On Monday, February 2nd, the Senate Transportation, Infrastructure, and Public Safety Committee will hold a hearing on House Bill 1061, regarding firearms non-discrimination.

On Monday, February 2nd, the Oregon Legislature will convene for the 2026 session, and gun control is already queued up for the first day of session.

Today, the National Rifle Association, along with the Independence Institute and FPC Action Foundation, filed an amicus brief urging the U.S. Supreme Court to strike down the federal prohibition on firearm possession by marijuana users.

Next week, the House Civil Rights & Judiciary committee will hold a vote on House Bill 2320, regarding 3-D printing bans. 

In April 2024, Gov. Janet Mills allowed a bill that requires a 72-hour waiting period before a dealer can transfer a firearm to a lawful purchaser to go into effect, declining to either veto or affirmatively sign the bill into law.

On Tuesday, February 3, the New Hampshire House Committee on Fish and Game and Marine Resources will hold a hearing on a proposed constitutional amendment that would enshrine the right to hunt and fish.

On Friday, January 30th, Senate Bill 26-004 will receive its second reading on the Senate Floor. 

Today, Thursday, January 29th, at 4pm the House Appropriations committee will hold an executive session on House Bill 2521, removing the cap on how much Washington State Patrol can charge for firearm background checks and expanding the scope of what the collected fees can be used for.
